Grand Lake Camping Trip
We decided to head to the other side of Rocky Mountain National Park for a little adventure near Grand Lake.
It was an all around great camping trip. Lots of time throwing rocks in the lake and river, wait, I mean, lots of time fishing, beautiful sunsets, herds of elk and even a few moose!!
Oh and the Osprey was amazing. There were several Osprey nests around the lake and we sat by one and got to watch it and hear its call. Beautiful!
We hit a trail called Muddy Creak and quickly found out why it got its name. Even though there hasn't been much rain this summer, parts of this trail were so muddy that they would have been nearly impassible with just a little more water. The dry ruts just told the story as to just how deep the mud could get.
The coolest part was that the mud glistened in the light. Get mud on your hand, wipe it off and your hand would shimmer like glitter. It was all in the crushed rock that made up the mud!
One one our hikes into RMNP, we came quietly upon an elk grazing on the path!! Jadeyn was amazed to get that close to the big animal.
