We're Goin' To The Zoo!

Denver Zoo - November 8th, 2009
It was free day at the Zoo so we had to take advantage of the beautiful weather and enjoy a day with the animals. Jadeyn LOVES the Zoo and ya know, Kevin and I are rather crazy about it too. It just gets more and more fun the older Jadeyn gets!
Out favorite has always been the big cats. The are such beautiful creatures! We also visited another favorite: the Okapi.

Kevin teases me about how much I love birds and this time we got to fees the birds in the lorakeet enclosure. Fun! Jadeyn got to help too and did pretty well feeding the birds the nectar. Only spilling it once!!

Since there was just the three of us, it was kind of hard to get a family photo.
So here is one attempt:
Kevin looks rather dashing don't you think?

Jadeyn's favorite vantage point came from on top of daddy's shoulders! He was full of sound effects the whole day and made a mess of crumbs and drool on Kevin's head a few times!

The hippos were a hit. Kevin lovingly calls the photo on the right: The Three Backsides! Thanks Kev!

All Pooped Out! Jadeyn wore himself out with all the excitement and pooped out on the way home!

Feeding the Ducks!

Duck Time!!

We went to Golden Ponds to feed the ducks. I had been wanting to take Jadeyn duck feeding for weeks, but wasn't sure if I could contain him well enough to keep him from following a duck in the water. I'm sure glad we waited for Kevin. Jadeyn was ecstatic to see the ducks and geese and had no fear of running out among them, or chasing them back into the water. He had a blast! Only one bummer. A "duck lady" showed up right after we did with a bag full of bread and kind of took over in the feeding area. She stole all our ducks away calling, "here babies, come here babies!" Kinda strange.
What a beautiful fall day. Since we had an early snow and really cold days, all of the leaves that hadn't changed yet have simply died and are falling off just dark green instead of red or gold. Its a bummer to have missed out on all the beauty that we normally have. Now that those cold days are over, we are enjoying the gorgeous 60 degree fall days again!

Colorful Fall

Fall is here again. From the sound of the weather report, winter will be right around the corner so we have to enjoy every second of the beautiful crisp fall air. Jadeyn and I played in the leaves today and had a blast. He couldn't quite get the concept of tossing the leaves in the air, but he had to have succeeded with a few of them, since I found a few leaves in his diaper later on. How did those leaves get past the jacket, sweater, onsie and jeans!?! I put Jadeyn to work early raking the leaves. We didn't get much accomplished, but oh well, it'll be fun to rake again tomorrow!!

HAPPY IN THE LEAVES !!!

Some of my favorite memories as a kid were playing in the leaves in the Fall. We would rake up our own yard leaves and pounce around in them, or we would go to a park and really have fun in the leaves. Jadeyn sure loved it today. You can't ask for better weather than 77 degrees on Halloween. The sun was to warm, not a cloud in the sky, grass was still green and the leaves were all freshly fallen. He had such fun crunching them, slapping them and occasionally trying to eat them. What a sweetie!
