For months Jadeyn has been a bit obsessed with Star Wars and he was extatic to be able to be Luke Skywalker for Halloween!! And what a handsome one he was!! I made his costume out of a Karate Gi, some scraps of cloth, a modified belt and an awesome new LIGHT SABER!!!!
He was the cutest little Jedi Warrior out there!!

Little Chef

Our "Little Chef"
Is the pie done?

Ready to Trick Or Treat?

Jadeyn was such a joy this Halloween! Besides being absolutely adorable, he was the funniest little guy and cracked us up every few minutes.
On Saturday we joined the Longmont City Parade and enjoyed watching all the crazy people, kids, dogs and goats in their costumes. Yup, I said goats! It was the funniest thing seeing goats dressed as pumpkins! We saw some great costumes and Jadeyn loved it all. He was so excited to see a Ghostbuster kid and latched onto him and kept shouting "Ghostbusters!!" Luckily the kid was a good sport.

We had a pot luck dinner with all the neighbors on our alley before the trick or treating began and it was such fun to get everyone together again! We have such wonderful neighbors!!

He loved his costume since he loves cooking with both of us. We even watched Ratatouille a few nights ago to get him in the mood and to see the other chefs wearing their big hats! When it came to Trick or Treating, he had a few really funny things to say. Reaching into a bowl at a few houses and dropping the candy in his bag, he promptly announced, "I need more!" Oh dear! Then, at one house the man dropped the candy in his bag, Jadeyn set his bag down and started digging through it. He found some Smarties and tried to give them to the man! We figure he was either tried to make a trade, or he was showing the man what he would rather have! Clever. Then another time, Kevin was distracted and Jadeyn was ready to move on. So Jadeyn looked around, saw Pierre, one of our neighbors, grabbed Pierre's hand and hollered, "Next house!" It didn't matter who it was, he was ready to go!!

It was such a special holiday having our little Chef around!

Happy Haunting!!

HALLOWEEN!!!!!
Halloween is so much more fun now that we have a little one. The whole day was filled with activities and candy!! We started out the day by heading to Main Street for the Halloween Parade. We got Jadeyn into his little costume: a brightly colored dragon complete with wings! When we had tried it on him at home, he walked around with his arms straight out saying "Uh-oh! Uh-oh!" over and over again!! Today was a much better success. He marched around proudly displaying his costume as everyone pointed and told us how adorable he was!! He led us up and down Main Street three times amazed by all the activity around him. Half the time he was running ahead of us wearing his little legs out early.

When the parade began, he LOVED the marching band!! He stamped his little feet to the musin and we had to hold him back from running out and joining them. I love this picture of Kevin holding him back by his tail!
The second half of the parade was all the kids marching along showing off their costume. Jadeyn just couldn't hold back and had to march along with them. Then came the Trick or Treating at the businesses. 3,000 kids is what they estimated!

The first piece of candy went in Jadeyn's back and he had to stop right there, pull it out and demanded that it be opened up for him to enjoy!! Luckily be brought plenty of tissue to wipe up the drool! He loved it.
Afterwards we stopped by Kevin's office. Last year Kevin and I handed out candy from Longmont Vision, but this year Dr Trudell's wife took on that duty so we could have fun. My co-worker, Amber and her mom and husband were there with Jadeyn's favorite part of the parade: two adorable doggies all dressed up.

In this photo, Jadeyn is teasing Dixie dressed up as a BumbleBee.

Here is Jadeyn with two neighbor buddies at the mall: A puppy-Davis and a tiger-Lily. Sweet!
Nighttime came (well, 5pm came) and it was time to hit the streets!! Our neighbors are so wonderful and its always such fun to visit withe them, that we took at least five minutes a house!! Jadeyn of course loved rining the doorbells and greeting any pet that happed to peek out the door as well! He started to get the hang of taking a piece of candy from the bowl but always tried to hand the piece back to the person at the door! His little legs started to gove out after about 12 houses!! His little Dragon legs were dragging! We headed home where he could answer the door for all our trick or treaters!. This was his favorite part of the night! He got to put a piece of candy in each kid's bag. We even had full sized special candy bars for our favorite neighbor kids. Kevin wants to become known as the "good house" I think!!
What a fun day!!!

HAPPY IN THE LEAVES !!!

Some of my favorite memories as a kid were playing in the leaves in the Fall. We would rake up our own yard leaves and pounce around in them, or we would go to a park and really have fun in the leaves. Jadeyn sure loved it today. You can't ask for better weather than 77 degrees on Halloween. The sun was to warm, not a cloud in the sky, grass was still green and the leaves were all freshly fallen. He had such fun crunching them, slapping them and occasionally trying to eat them. What a sweetie!

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween Everyone!
Jadeyn got a special package in the mail from his Aunt Julie. A trick or Treating outfit! He was adorable answering the door for all our neighbor kids and saved me and Kev from having to dress up again. If he had worn his peasant boy costume we would have had to wear our renaissance costumes to match! Jadeyn even went to one neighbor's house to trick or treat. He's practicing for next year!

Happy Fall

HAPPY FALL Y'ALL!!!!
We had a ton of fun at a local pumpkin patch with our little pumpkin. Once again his fingers had to reach out and touch everything aground him and he was fascinated by all the orage everywhere he looked!

Happy Hallowen

Longmont Vision Center once again participated in the Halloween parade on Main Street. We had a blast handing out candy to almost 3,000 children. This year we were proud to present our little peasant boy, complete with a little leather vest, patches on his trousers and a little tinfoil sword. He loved seeing all the kids in their costumes!
