Fishing Frenzy!

Another wonderful day of fishing! We got a late start so Jadeyn took his nap on our way to the lake. We thought for sure he would be still so exhausted that he would stay asleep on my shoulder for awhile: nope. He lifted his groggy little head, took one look at the water and started hollering: Fishy! Fishy! Fishy! I guess he is awake for good!

We just went to Flatiron Reservoir area near Loveland since we only had a few hours and it was great. Lots of bites, lots of fish (not too big though) and lots of mud and sticks for Jadeyn to throw in the lake. Normally he gets obsessed with the worms, this time it was the salmon eggs. He'd pick on up with the pliers and squish it, then throw it in the lake. We caught about 15 rainbows, kept 7. Kevin's office will love us!!
When we arrived at home, we decided that Jadeyn was already muddy so we washed all the mud off the truck from last week's fishing trip. It was caked on, Jadeyn made a mess, soaked both of us with the hose and watered all the flowers! Oh dear! Beautiful day!

Sharks Eat Dinner Too

Jadeyn is OBSESSED with Fish! Alive ones, dead ones, trout, fishtank fish, and especially SHARKS! Every night he insists on reading Wish for a Fish! This is a sweet video if you want to hear him chatter. One translation to look for: frarr = shark. When daddy tells him about the sharks dinner, Jadeyn gets so concerned because he recently figures out that dinner ends up in his tummy! Also, he normally hollers "big fishy!" with such gusto that this video is especially cute when he says it so daintily! Oh, and when we took him trout fishing this week, he looked at all the fish on the stringer, waved and said "hi fishies" then yelled "dead fishy!!" Oh my!

Summer is finally here!

After cold weather, late snows, with gorgeous days in-between, summer has finally arrived (Not sure what happened to spring!) Jadeyn took full advantage already at the neighbors this week. He "helped" them water their garden and succeeded in soaking himself, me, each of them a bit, and somehow the dogs escaped soakage! He had so much fun though. I couldn't help but post theses photos!

Finally Fishing!

Summer is finally here after cold weather, snowstorms, covering flowers, bundling up and just plain anticipating warm weather. We finally were able to go fishing today!!! WahoO!!!
Jadeyn was so excited to finally use his new pole that he got for Christmas and Kevin was desperate to "dunk a worm!" We pulled up to Red Feather Lake (Dowdy was closed) and nestled as close to the water as we could to get out of the wind. Once out of the wind, it was quite pleasant. Small patches of snow surrounded us and Jadeyn happily threw rock after rock in the water!
We didn't do too bad: caught three, kept two. We would have caught more if Jadeyn hadn't of tangled our lines a few times. But we caught two surprises: two crawfish!!! We've never caught them on a line before and Jadeyn caught both: reeling them up and watching them dangling off of his hook!!! He was ecstatic!!

Jadeyn's first fish catch of the year came complete with a cute little dance!!

Forcefeeding Newt Video

Our cats are so good with Jadeyn (even if they manage to hide while he's awake and miraculously show up during naptime and within minutes of bedtime!) Here is a video of Jadeyn being a good big brother to Newt and attempting to feed him a cat treat! He does a pretty good job, opens his mouth very smoothly and then tries to shove it in!!
