He's Mobile Now

He's mobile now...we're in trouble!!!
Our little turbo crawler is all over the place now and we love it!! There's nothing more difficult that changing a baby's diaper while he is twisting and turning or trying to stand up while you're doing it; but there's also nothing cuter than a little naked body crawling away too! Jadeyn is in such an adorable stage and so interested in everything! Its a wonderful time!

Our little neighbor VilliKay gave Newt a ball of yarn for Christmas, and since then it has been one of the cat's and Jadeyn's favorite toys! They roll it around, unwind it, leave it strewn all over the house. We wind it up again and they fun can begin all over again!

It has been so fun to watch Jadeyn interact with the cats. He has loved them from about his second week of life. He would even refuse to go down for a nap if he could hear one of them purring nearby because he would want to watch them. Now he not only watches, but attacks, licks, hugs, tugs and pulls on them!

Our little Destructicon!
We're in trouble already. Jadeyn has discovered the entertainment center and all the DVDs, and he loves it. He can empty out a shelf a few seconds flat! It was pretty cute though: of all the movies he had strewn about his feet, he picked out Shrek, held it in his little hands and babbled to it! Of course, he also picked out the Marvel comic Hellboy which was fitting. On his first week of life Kevin and I tried to get through the whole movie of Hellboy and ended up going through it about 5 times before we finally saw the whole thing. Also, our little sweetie would turn beet red when he was really mad back then, so it was even more fitting!

Beautiful January Day

Ahhh! This is why we live in Colorado!
In the middle of the dead of winter, we get a clear 70 degree flawless day! We took Jadeyn out for a walk and a swing in the park and he loved it. He is happiest outdoors we have decided. Check out the sweet profile of Jadeyn in the photo with his daddy!

Computer Desk Project

Computer Desk Project

Whew! What a project! We waited until the coldest week of the year to begin sanding and staining our new office furniture. We enjoyed doing our 5 piece bedroom set so much that we decided to go at it again. Jadeyn was a pretty good little boy sleeping through the sounds of the sander and air compressor at times or playing in his exersaucer in the garage while we worked. He still couldn't quite get why daddy was wearing a mask during the polyurethane part!

The desk turned out beautiful!
We even initiated it by setting up both computers and Kevin and I have been gaming after Jadeyn hits the hay.

On New Years we visited Kevin's brother and family and got me started again on World of Warcraft. We had all four computers going. Boy is it a lot more fun to quest with people I know instead of wandering around by myself! So our computer desk is serving its purpose!

Christmas 2008

A Special Day!

Christmas truly is a special time of year and it is even more precious to be able to share it with our little boy! It was if he knew, at eight months old, that it was Christmas morning. His cheeks were even rosier than usual and he was absolutely happy and excited when we got him out of his crib. Up until this morning, he has stared at the Christmas tree, but hadn’t reached out or attacked it. Christmas morning he lunged for it every chance he got! The ornaments, the green branches, nothing was safe from his little grasp!

Opening presents was a delight as we expected. He tore up the wrapping paper, munched on the bows and ribbons, all to find out what was inside. We buried him in wrapping paper and laughed as he flapped all his appendages with delight as the paper rattled around him. Jadeyn loved opening his presents from his Grandmas and Grandpas and from Great Grandma Pete. He helped with our gifts as well of course. We thought it was sweet when daddy and son opened up their socks together. There’s even one of his gifts still under the tree that he doesn’t know about still waiting to have fun with!

Halfway through though, hunger hit. Jadeyn had to take a short break from the festivities to guzzle a quick bottle and then he was back at it! We had fun with our assortment of new movies, scrapbook stuff, beautiful National Parks book and National Park monopoly game, some camping stuff, new outfits for Jadeyn, etc.

What a great morning! And so special!

"We get to do this again next year!!!?!???!"
