Time for the Johnsons!

We spent a wonderful weekend in Boise visiting most of my family. We just had to take advantage of Jadeyn flying free still and it was the perfect excuse to visit! It was such fun to see everyone and just hang out and catch up.

While we were there, we were lucky enough to get to see my niece Michelle play the lead role in her high school production of Bye Bye Birdie. To say she was fantastic would be an understatement! It was a hilarious play and excellent acting and singing! We would have been happy to see it a few more times!

Mom and dad have been doing a major renovation of their house and we got the grand tour. Wow! What a transformation. The kitchen with new counter tops, cabinets, sink, floor, everything was very nicely done. Several of the rooms were unrecognizably improved and others were beautiful improvements on what I grew up with. For example, the downstairs living room was still adorned with the red glass lamps, tree stump end tables and red shag carpet, but the painting and other touches looked great. They have put a lot of hard work into it and I was happy to see their progress!

Mom, Sheri and Julie decided that I looked a bit too Colorado-y and took me on a small shopping spree to find me some skinny jeans, or at least jeans that fit me and aren't so baggy. It was a blast to be out with the girls and we scored! In the meantime the men wrestled all six kids in the hot tub and were great babysitters.

I'm going to brag a bit about my wonderful husband. He was an amazing son in law this weekend, not only putting up with me when I get around my mom and sisters, but also going out to a movie and a hoorah in the Triumph with my dad. They really enjoyed themselves and it gave me a lot of one on one time with my sisters and mom.

We took all the young kids to Burger King for dinner pone night and to let them play on all the fun equipment. They had a lot of fun together. The bigger kids were so helpful with the smaller ones!

Cute story about Jadeyn at church. When all the choir members stood up to go to the front of the chapel for their musical number, Jadeyn stood up on the pew and waved saying: "thank you, bye bye!" over and over! And, yes, he clapped and cheered after every song! The poor little guy got really sick though on the trip. He started with high fevers each night and stopped sleeping well. I had to take a 2am trip to Walgreens and we were able to control his fevers with ibuprofen, but still, he had a rough go of it.

We got to see my Grandma Johnson as well on this trip. It was great to see her and fun to catch up about all of my cousins. She is doing very well and I was so happy when Jadeyn gave her a great big hug when we left.
It was a wonderful trip and I loved seeing my family!
(more pictures to come when I get them downloaded from my mom's camera!)
