A Bunch Of Animals

Denver Zoo June 2012

Kevin's sister Jennifer wanted so badly come to Jadeyn's 4th Birthday celebration at the Zoo, but a snowstorm on I-70 prevented them from coming.  So they made up for it with a special weekend trip just for playtime at the Zoo.  It coincided with the opening of the new Asian Exhibit at the Denver Zoo and boy was it impressive.  All new enclosures for some of the animals, new elephant demonstration, new information displays all over the Zoo, pretty sweet.

It was a scorching hot day and hit 100 degrees by the time we left!  The boys all cooled them off several times during the day by filling up their baseball hats at the drinking fountain and dumping them on their heads!
Some favorites of today's Zoo experience were the monkeys now in a very open display with a lot of ropes.  There was a white and a black one that were constantly swinging back and forth.

The mandatory picture posed on the big hippo!

Baby Orangutan!!!  Sweet little guy with big eyes trying to keep up with his mama!

Of course the boys were all enthralled with the snake and reptile exhibit!  (Plus it was nice and cool in there!!)

After the Zoo we stopped at Shawn and Stephanie's house so the Crawford cousins could see and play with the rest of the Cottrell cousins.  It was a mad house as all of them wrestled, nerf gunned, chased, romped, squealed and loved being with each other!!!

Back at our house, everyone was wiped out!!

Fun Day!
